Thoughts Aren't Always Kind These thoughts aren't kind, Mirror shows bloodshot eyes Bringing feelings that I find.. To be softly nostalgic? Kids climbing trees, Carving knives from sticks, The school bullies tease.. Or in bed tucked tightly, Won't time tick faster? Hall light shines brightly Of daydreams I'm the master.. I've counted 500 sheep, And these tears won't sleep. Some nights I'd rather just admit defeat. But in adulthood I've discovered, You need some dark to see the light, Don't store your feelings in a cupboard Or hide them out of sight. I'm who I am today, And I'm not saying that it's perfect, But I'd rather strive for real Than to miss out on #life.
