My Job at Storybooks I was lucky to get a job within just a week of being here. I got a job at Storybook Mums, editing the recordings done by mums here in prison. It's a beautiful job to have, as I get to hear so many mums reading a story to their kids. Then I get to turn them into edited versions with sound effects and backing music. It's lovely to see the emotions from the mums as they read to their kids, even cry. It's beautiful that the prison has this and gives mums the opportunity to send a storybook reading home. It is hard for kids to be out there without their mums, so I think it's great the prison acknowledges that the kids are in a sentence too when we are. They are doing time too, time without their mum. I love my job at Storybooks. It uplifts me every day. I am so grateful to Chris and Rob for getting me this job. I love seeing the smiles on the mum's faces after hearing back the completed versions. ##poetsin #prose #Storybooks #mums #kids #joy
