This Ceaseless Love My feet sink into the soft grains of sand The whispers of the sea calming to ears As well as the unintelligble blabbers Of the child older no more than a year. He toddles towards the sea, I watch As then from crashing waters he flees. There's nothing more pleasing to hear That instills love than his ebullient shrieks. The sky turns into a beautiful ineffability, By the last presence of the setting sun. A tousled head blinks up at me, Exhaustion all said by a stifled yawn. The stars shine above as night now falls, His sleep-filled eyes gaze upon the sky. A brave fight to never slumber fails, And he sleeps as I whisper a lullaby. And as you drift into peaceful slumber, dear, Know how desperately I want time to freeze. And know that with every breath, I will love you, Even after death takes a hold of me. _______________________________ You know those middle-of-the-night rough writings you get? Like rambles? This, this is one of them.
