Burner, breaker, wrecker, bomber Blown apart and torn asunder. Left a view to sit and ponder All the mind would pause to wonder Shark tooth jagged metal bites a swath Through forgiving bodies caught in the wind Lifted from mundane daily chores to greater heights And dashed upon its steely mouth Torn and broken as easy as a flower In a years worth of storm would last but a second No time to blink before every rain drop falls at once Crashing through concrete and glass For a second the light showed me exactly where not to tread Then it changed its mind and engulfed me It showed parts of me a quieter place Then left the rest to cower beneath the roar Through choice I would not have stayed But the will of the storm was to great to abate Given the chance I would have run But the nothingness got to my legs first I think I might have seen the whole of me If only my glasses were on my head They would have lain somewhere in the carnage But my naked eyes could not see a useful hand to retrieve them
