Shattered Your words pierce me Punching holes through my heart and mind Their impact shatters the mirror The bright reflective surface that we are born with It breaks with each crushing, painful word Words to try and fix it Gluing each piece back together But the pieces never fit as they were The mirror loses its shine Slithers are lost forever Sharp edges and scars remain The mirror is left dull and tarnished Its light is never the same Words can change things forever Shattered, incomplete and broken Choose them wisely and spare that pain
