Tear-Stained Skies (or A Plea From Earth To Man) My tear-stained skies reveal the depth of my pain But you carry on, unflinching. My tears they fall constantly; you call them "rain" How can I be more convincing? I'm raped by you daily: I bleed oil and coal, My seas poisoned, forests stripped bare. I was unspoiled until 4 billion years old You've ruined me but you don't care. You live on my surface by my grace alone: Kindly, benign mother nature I'll quake you awake and I'll destroy your home To show you how much I hate you. My seas they will rise and my winds they will blow To rid myself of mankind's plague Volcanoes will spew magma from down below And none of your kin will be saved! My tear-stained skies reveal the depth of my pain But you can do something to soothe me Don't make the mistakes your parents made again Let's work together: don't use me. Respect all my flora, my birds and my bees, My rivers and oceans as well. Will this be sufficient to cure my disease? I don't know: only time will tell. #titlechallenge
