The Great Gap Everywhere I go adults are always telling me I don't live up to my potential But, you see... That is the problem with their generation They've set impossibly high standards Try as we might our generation will never fully live up to the roles they have so clearly laid out before us, even before our birth We make our own roles, and claim our own titles, in our own way You see it everywhere, from the organization Get Lit to Miley Cyrus It's not the teenagers our age that make us feel inadequate, bullied It's adults like those that constantly remind us how we fail to their expectations I expect certain things of myself already, and you just pile on more It is not that I don't want to be the doctor you planned me to be, or the pilot you had hoped I know what I want to be I want to be proud of what I want to be They are making it impossible
