A Moment Together -A My Little Pony story- Captain Shining Armour was one busy stallion, being an ex-captain of the guard had it's toll, as well as being Prince to the Crystal Empire. Training the new guards wasn't easy, after being kept for slavery for over 1000 years made them weak, and soft. But try as he must, he had to work with such. Coming back from duty, his messenger Fiery Wings, approached him. "Good afternoon your highness, having s good day?" Asked Fiery. Shining Armour could not help but roll his eyes. He didn't do anything to the populace of the empire to earn the title 'Prince'. "Honestly Fiery you can me Shining." Acknowledged Shining. "As much as would oblige to what you have said your highness, but by the rules and regulations of Princess Celestia herself, I cannot comply." Fiery informed Shining. "Well then at least call me Captain, not 'Your highness'." Shining mumbled. Fiery nodded. "I assume you have a few messages for me?" Asked Fiery. "Yes you hi- I mean Captain. The Griffin leaders would like to set a meeting to establish that the empire should pay the banks. That will be all." Fiery said. Opening the doors Princess Cadence came in, bumping into Fiery. "Your Highness, I'm terribly sorry! Don't banish me to the Northern parts of the empire and leave their to rot!" Apologised Fiery, still frightened at the punishments their old monarch made them do. Cadence gave a warm smile "Fiery Wings, honestly there's no need to apologise it was an accident. Now if you could leave me and my husband please, I have something I need to do." Fiery nodded and left the couple alone. "Cadence!" Shining galloped towards his wife, embracing her. "Hello there mister." She giggled at the tight embrace she was given. Shining held her in his hooves nuzzling her "What are you doing here? I thought you had official princess duties to do?" Shining asked. Cadence waved her hoof, a signal to ignore the subject. "A day off honey." The couple often couldn't see each other, restricted by their duties they would only see each other late at night or early in the morning. Now that they had a day to appreciate each other they would spend so well. Reaching the top of the hill, Shining Armour and Cadence gazed down at their empire. Admiring the scenery, Cadence leaned on Shining resting her head on his shoulder. "Come I made daisy sandwiches and oat bars topped with honey!" Cadence said excitedly dragging Shining towards the picnic. It was neatly laid out with a traditional red and white chequered mat, with a vase of daffodils and the food smelled wonderful! "This looks amazing babe, as usual. Well the every few times you do cook for me." Shining chuckled. They laid down, on their bellies. "Mmm I could live with this forever. Just you, me and nothing else." Cadence smiled. After their lovely meal, Cadence got up. The sun was setting, as Shining rose to his hooves, yawning. "Shiiiniing!" Cadence whispered. They were situated behind a bush in a dark alleyway. "Whaat" Shining replied copying Cadence's whispered tone. "Are we there yet?" She asked tapping his shoulder. "Noo." He whispered back. He beckoned Cadence to follow him, nothing galloping quietly towards some large bins. Hiding behind, they heard a drunkard singing terribly. "Oh tell ye families, All ye brothers and fathers Which princess is right for me? There's Celestia the sun goddess, Heard she got a nice round butt, All the cake she stuffs in her Makes a cuddly toy, my toy But then there's a second princess Luna. How she turns the heads of all. I'd want to watch her bounce up and down Shaking her booty, a true prize for me." Shining looked at his wife who was barely containing the giggles, letting out little squeaks. However being former captain of the guard, serving Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, Shining Armour felt that he should go give the drunk pony a lesson of talking about the Princesses in such way. But seeing his wife laughing like that was a joy of its own. When the pony was reaching the last lines Cadence and Shining gave each other cheesy grins "So who is the princess right for me!" The pony,Cadence, and Shining howled. They both giggled like the little foals they were. "Shiiniing." Cadence whispered "So help me little filly the answer is no!" Shining groaned, annoyed . Later that night, Cadence stared into the ceiling. She winced at the idea that she wouldn't get to spend time with him. She cried, softly and quietly. Since moving to the empire she spent less time with her husband, it wasn't fair! It was never fair, because she was a princess. Shining awoke to the crying. "Mmm Cadence, what's wrong honey?" Shining asked softly. "It's just... We won't get times like this again, not so often at least! I miss all the times that we are together. Being with you for eternity is what I most desire, not ruling an empire!" Cadence cried, letting her emotions run free. Shining cuddled her whispering "Oh Cadence. My sweet darling Cadence. We will always have time to be with each other. Don't ever think that." Cadence nodded, tears fading away. "I love you Shining Francis Armour." Cadence murmured. "I love you to Princess Mi Amoré Cadenza." Shining replied, giving her a little squeeze. They let some quiet moments over take them until they both burst into a fit of giggles. "I really do truly love you. I feel blessed to have you, my true love." Cadence smiled. "I'll never ever let you go, your my #life. I honestly couldn't imagine a future without you by my side. My beautiful bride." He said giving a smug grin. Both soon feel asleep in each other's hooves, "True love"
