An Old Friend I wore long hair and tie dyes, Just like a flower child. You looked like Dennis the Menace, With your afro and your stripy jumper. Such a pair! We used to bunk off college, All in the name of adventure; Heading to the beach To light a campfire. I'd go skinny dipping, While you sat on the golden sand Smoking marihuana. One afternoon I still recall: Dylan crooning from your stereo As we sat in your mum's kitchen, Drinking endless mugs of coffee, Playing endless games of chess. You beat me every single time. Later on, We drank cheap liquor, And then, Drunk as two sailors, We stayed up all night Playing our guitars.
