Forever Fallen Prologue Pain shot throughout my entire body as a force blasted it's way through my chest, burrowing deep inside every bone to the point where I felt like I might bend in half. No one seemed to notice me falling to the polished wooden floor of the gymnasium, even as I gasped for enough air to holler for help. Just when a tunnel of light opened up before me I felt something shaking me. The light faded and then everything was dark. Chapter One -Emma- BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The old alarm clock sat on my twice as old oak bedside table, declaring that it was seven o' clock in the morning. My mind didn't register right away what today's plans were until my eyes fell on my phone. Texts from my best friend Sasha reminded me that we had summer school homework to do. Getting out of bed, I slipped into a pair of black skinny jeans and slipped on my favorite band's T-shirt. Sunlight was just beginning to peek over the Colorado mountains as I slid into the driver's seat of my purple jeep. It was a thirty minute drive to the library so I turned on the radio and listened to a couple arguing over the girl cheating on the man or boy with his stepdad. Issues was the first word that ran across my mind as I began to drum my fingers on the steering wheel. Gray clouds hung in the air like a bad omen and I cursed at myself for forgetting to grab a jacket. ~~~ Thirty minutes later and I sped into a parking space next to Sasha's Dodge Challenger, Sasha came from a rich set of parents. "Oh my god, you're actually on time for once!" Sasha teased as I gathered my book bag from the passenger seat. "Shut up." I smiled. "Hey, hey now, you'll thank me for this later cause if it wasn't for me reminding you we would be scrubbing Miss Gulch's bathroom for the rest of our lives!" Sasha replied as she jabbed my arm playfully. "Okay, fine, you win." I sighed. "What's wrong hun?" Sasha asked, concerned. "Nothing, I just want to get this done and over with." I replied as I started to head for the entrance of the library. "That makes two of us then." Sasha giggled as she skipped through the main lobby. "I'm glad someone is enjoying theirselves." I mumbled to myself. Following the many portraits of famous authors, I soon found myself in the main part of the library which had a big winding staircase in the middle of the room with the inquiry desk at the bottom of it. "Hello, how may I help you today?" The librarian whispered as she looked me up and down through a pair of black glasses. The fluorescent lights made the librarian's hair look purplish instead of the bluish grey it really was. "I want a computer please." I informed her as she continued observing my outfit. Two clicks of some keys and the librarian replied, "Number thirteen." Following a thin bony finger, I found my computer next to a boy in a black leather jacket. My mouth almost fell open as Sasha kept tilting her head towards the boy and mouthing the words "oh my god" to me. I shook my head in reply and sat my book bag down so fast that I shut off the boy's computer on accident. "I'm so sorry!" I yelped as the boy's ice blue eyes looked into my eyes through a curtain of platinum blonde hair. "It's okay Emma, I was just leaving." The boy said in a voice only loud enough for me to hear. My mouth fell open as he said my name, I'd never met this guy before and yet he knew my name. Before I could think of a reply, he was walking out of the library. The only thing that was left behind was the fragrance of Mint, diesel, and oil and a card that read: Lucky 7's Bar & Grill "IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN" was the motto. An address was scribbled on the back of it. When I turned back to Sasha it was like she never noticed, her eyes were fixed on the doors the mysterious guy had went through. Who was he and how did he know my name? I wanted to find out somehow. But some questions are better left unanswered. TO BE CONTINUED...
