Snowflake ~Chapter 1~ Lyra escaped the building she called her home. Her shadow was following her like a snake in the moonlight. She brushed away the branches of the dead bush in her back garden and snowflake emerged from the bush. She stroked her soft fur. Her pet snow leopard. "The zoo in London tried to buy you of me, but your priceless in my eyes," Lyra said. Snowflake turned her head to the right. She obviously didn't understand Lyra, but she would do anything for her. Lyra took out the crate full of meat from behind the old shed and fed her one piece. It was like carrying a dozen elephants, but she managed. "I love you," Lyra said. Snowflake was all she had. Her mum is a heroine addict and in a special hospital to help her and her dad smokes weed all night and sometimes shouts at Lyra, blaming her for her mum buying heroine. She bought snowflake from the black market, obviously while her mum was buying heroine, but from now on, when I say butterfly I mean heroine. While her mum was buying butterfly, she saw a man in a black hoodie and in sruffy black jeans with holes in. He offered £50 for it, but she tricked him with a £5 note. All she did was write an extra 0 on it. When her mum had finished with a deal buying butterfly, she went to the £1 shop and bought a lead for the snow leopard. It was only a cub so it was easy to fit. At first, she feed her left over meat or out of date meat, witch her dad threw away, until she met the man in the black market and she bought a crate of meat. It would last 3 months and she would keep going back there for more crates. She got her best friends, boyfriends brother to move the crate to her house. She had it all started. When her mum was caught taking butterfly and was arrested, she counted on snowflake. She feed him, groomed him, and taught him how to be calm. Now he wouldn't hurt a fly. Then her dad got into smoking weed. No I'm referring weed to flowers. Just to take your mind of terrible word. That night, her dad had been out at the pub, that's when he was at his worst. "Why couldn't it be day," she thought. She loved it when the sun was up. He cared for her, treated her like she deserved. She leaped into bed and pretend to be asleep. "Where is that mutt," he growled, "the one who took my wife to the black market!" She shut her eyes, like they wouldn't open again. "She's asleep, I guess Ill wake her up," he bellowed. He smacked her in the face. She looked out at the window and snowflake had watched every single movement. "Stay there," she whispered. But snowflake couldn't hear her. She bashed down the door and pounced up satires like my dad was her prey. Lyra curled up in a corner, watching her dad being turned into snowflakes chew toy. He was dead by the end of it, and snowflake dug into her meal, my dad. "I'm probably better of with out him, if he cared about me, he wouldn't smoke weed and drink and abuse me," I cried. I didn't really like my dad, and I was better of without him. "Snowflake, we have to run, the police will come and arrest me and den you to a zoo for murder," I sobbed. Snowflake could see the fear in Lyra's eyes. This time, she knew what Lyra meant, it was time to run away!
