Rain Rain. It reminds me of melancholy. As I stare though the taxi cabs window the sound of water splashes downward on the vehicle. Street lights sparkle and shine as we drive past them. People walk with umbrellas up. Children splash and play until scolded by parents. Some sit on a bench awaiting a taxi or bus. I look down at me umbrella, one more thing I have to lug around. "Here's your stop" the driver says. Paying him I step out. Then, soon being sucked into a crowd of people walking. Umbrellas where up all around me, but I couldn't bring myself to open mine. I wonder if anyone had ever though the rain was lonely as I did, long ago. Even though each raindrop is surrounded by hundreds of other raindrops its still being rejected by plastic shields keeping them from us. All raindrops fate is to plunge from the sky onto the ground that ends its #life in a blink and nobody stops to care. I just stand there in the middle of the sidewalk. As people bustled passed me eager to get home, I look up at the sky embracing the rain silently telling them its alright, that I care. I get pushed and bring myself back to reality. I scolded myself "Don't be silly, your not five anymore. It's just rain." I opened my umbrella and walked off. Disappearing into the crowd...
