PERHAPS ! I see myself through others eyes, truly,I am no great prize, Receding hair,a touch of grey, mediocre,most would say. Single for so many years, no romance to end in tears. Though I wondered every day,could true love ever come my way? I welcomed each weekend so free,just a few old friends and me. We'd hit the bars for just a few,then drift on to somewhere new. Perhaps enjoy a good night out,nothing much to boast about. We hit a Night Club in the Strand,heard they had a newish band. Lots of couples dancing there,dancing all,without a care. I looked around that happy throng, dancing to the latest song. My friends were dancing on the floor, and I'm alone,just as before. Then someone touched me on the arm , a gentle voice,so full of charm, "You look so lonely,standing there,perhaps a table we could share?" Usually diffident and meek,how easy it was then to speak. And so we talked the night away, unaware of breaking day. Hesitant to really part, our words were spoken from the heart. Infatuation?Someone new? How could I doubt the Love that grew. If Love.has offered me a test,only time can answer best. I wait for time to just elapse, is she"The One?" Perhaps,Perhaps!
