Rain's Quest-Continued Sandy stood next to me as we quivered with fear, looking up at the huge tom. "You are NOT allowed here. It's time you were taught a lesson..that you'll never forget." "Cloud." I hissed. "What did you do with our mother?" "I don't appreciate your tone." Suddenly lashing out at us, Cloud hissed, "What we did with Storm is none of your buisness." He flung himself onto me, raking my belly with thorn-sharp claws. Then we both stopped in surprise. A young, long-furred shecat prised Cloud off my body. "Cloud, what are you doing?" "Trying to drive out the ColourFurs, what do you think?!" "Ice makes all the desicions, not you, fluffhead!" "But I-" "Enough. Ice will see to this." We walked into a deserted clearing. Eyes glinted from the shadows and prey bones were scattered around. Growls and hisses emerged from the grouping IceCats. In the middle of the clearing was a huge, chalky rock-white. Ice stood on its peak-really living up to his name. His pelt was a sea of snow, his eyes cold chinks of frost. We approached him; he never spoke a word. I looked around. Cats were surrounding us now. Ice stared spitefully down at us. Then he flicked his tail over to a huge, gaping hole, yawning out of another white rock. Then he leaped down and in an instant, I realised how powerful he really was. Suddenly, he whisked Sandy away into his den; I was taken to the fearsome cave. Cloud looked down at me scornfully, before tossing me in. All was dark inside the hole. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I noticed a passage in the gloom. Following an instinct I didn't understand, I wandered aimlessly down it for what seemed like hours, until I was so exhausted I fell to my paws. I heard a coughing, and awoke with a start. And with horror, I realised that the limp pile of fur in the corner of the cave was Storm-my mother.
