Through Empty Windows Through Empty Windows By Nicholas c Caldwell A scarlet red butterfly with a broken wing will crawl away from cold skin that which a white blanket keeps warm. A dead body covered in white snow. A young boy rests upon the Earths bed while the red butterfly stains the path from which it travels. His blood sinking into the snow. A toy iron truck lies broken within the palm of the boys hand. A fallen golden star crashes into the pond of the red butterfly. The shimmering shell casing melting deeper and deeper into the redness. The boy has drifted away from the world and now sees reality as he pleases. An unbearable truth hiding behind his perception.
