When I'm Without Him PROLOGUE Feeling the wind gush against your face is one of the best feelings ever in my case. It reminds me of Blake, my husband. It's killing me to remember him leave my house like that Monday night. Hope is hard to feel for me, but I really hope he will come back tomorrow. Zia, my daughter, lay her head calmly on my lap. Fuzzing her hair gently, I let out a sigh of sadness. 'Mummy,' Zia began. 'When will daddy come home to see us?' Tears prickled my eyes. How could I possibly tell her he won't be coming back? Besides, even I hope he'll be with us tomorrow. Wondering what to say, I stared down at her. I could just make out her eyes looking up faithfully. Knowing she wanted Blake to come home more than anything was the saddest thing ever. Although I knew this couldn't possibly help at all, I tried to change the subject to something more positive. Perhaps it could work, however it isn't something to be guaranteed. 'What do you want for your birthday, Zia? A new toy? Some more clothes? Books?' Why did I say that? I knew what was coming after what I said: 'I just want daddy back.' Knew it. Now what should I say? I'm just making things harder for myself. Suddenly, I burst into tears. Lots of people near me started staring at us. Poor Zia sat up looking puzzled. Soon she started crying too. We're just two lost souls who can't take their minds off a loved one who left them. #life just doesn't get better than this, now does it? Holding Zia tight was the only thing I could do now. Without her I'm nothing, just some heartless freak who should just disappear. A man from behind offered us a napkin, bless him. In a nice way, I didn't accept of which. He soon sat by us trying to comfort us and ever asked if we wanted to talk about it. 'Ladies, ladies, you're ok. Try to take your mind off what's upsetting you.' He said soothingly. I shook my head, trying to smile at him. 'God bless you, sir. My husband left me and my daughter Zia a few months back and now we're lost without him,' I cried. 'How could he walk out on a beautiful lady like you? Especially with a daughter, h should be by your side forever,' he replied. 'Hey, If I makes you feel better, I'll go bye you a drink.'
