On The Move: Prologue Prologue My mum filled my head with horrible things about my dad since they got a divorce when I was nine, I've learnt to believe only some of the things she tells me. A few months after dad had left, mum got a job all the way over in Japan. I know, half way across the world from England - wow. We packed our stuff and left, yep - just like that and I guess that's where it all started. I've been travelling for seven years and that makes me 16 in this year, 2013. You see, we travel a lot... All around the world infact, the only place I haven't been is America - a place I've always wanted to go but mum never got a job there... But that was all going to change. "Iris, Iris! Get your butt over here... NOW!" My obnoxious mum called from across the hall. Luckily I've been awake for some time, just laying in my bed looking through my Twitter feed. I slipped my feet into fluffy white slippers and had a quick look around my small but comfortable room, then I opened the door and plodded across the narrow hall of our apartment and reached my mum who was now stood in the open kitchen. "What mum? I was pretty comfortable in my bed and the-" I was just about to finish my rant until she pulled my into a massive hug and screamed in my ear, "We're going to NEW-YORK!" I quickly pulled out of the hug and she waved a letter in my face, a letter from her work company. "Seriously? OH MY GOD!" I practically screamed in her face and started jumping around that crazy, mum joined in with me and we where jumping for a good couple of minuets until we flopped back onto the sofa and sat there in silence. "I can't believe we're actually moving to New-York. This is amazing mum, I've always wanted to go there! What job have you got?" I asked letting the curiosity take over me. "Well they decided to let me manage a whole magazine this time! So I'll get lots of pay and we'd be able to have a new house, it's going to be amazing Iris." Then before I knew it, our apartment was packed and we where on a plane - heading towards America, my new home.
