Can You Stay Open He Says !! If you have read my previous post you will know that I work within the motor industry as a sales advisor, I sell parts for a living. A very cheerful and quirky young man decided to ring me at 5:53pm this afternoon for a price on a part for his car, no problem I don't finish work for another 7 minutes yet, so I proceed to to give him the price of the part in question and mentioned that we keep this part in stock. Me thinking that that will be that we will both say our good byes and get on with the rest of our evening, no I was wrong !! He asked if we would be willing to stay open a few minutes as he lives 15 minutes away And is extremely desperate to get his car back on the road tonight. Cheeky little blighter I thought to myself, struggling to fight back the urge of telling where to shove it I politely say "I'm sorry but we have been here since 080am this morning and the time is nearing 60pm therefor I have been here for 10 hours today, I don't get paid overtime and even if I did I still wouldn't be able to serve you as the tills automatically lock stopping us from handling anymore cash and card payments. We re-open at 80am in the morning and your more than welcome to collect your part then". He didn't seem very amused but what should you expect asking someone to work on after their finishing time regardless of what it is for, I mean seriously as if we as a nation don't work hard enough, people like this damn guy will be the reason retirement age will be raised yet again.
