Buffalo Theory I'd like to share a theory that was passed on to me about why university students seemingly can go out and get drunk every night and still go on to pass their exams, coursework and degrees. Think of your mind as a herd of buffalo and alcohol as a pride of lions. Normally when a lion is attacking a herd for food, they will make a break for the easier to kill and, therefore, weakest buffalo. This inherently would leave (presumably) the herd in a stronger position as the stronger buffalo are still there. Apply this analogy to your brain when drinking - alcohol has been proven to kill brain cells, but there's nothing to say that it wouldn't be the weaker brain cells that were being killed. That would then mean that the stronger brain cells are left and should mean that the consumer of the alcohol would end up smarter. I mean, looking at graduation numbers and the amount of drink the average student can consume, can you see any other way to explain it?
