If I Die Don't hesitate, it's a mistake. Swim away, she'll be fine.' It's what most people would've thought. At this point my lungs burned. I tried to swim but the waves kept taking me. "Dallas! Dallas!" I heard Kelly's voice. She drew farther and farther away. I was about to die and then I felt something grab me by the waist and pull me up. It was Kelly. She was completely under water as my body was held up high and I could breathe. I coughed water up and looked down. Her face was red. She was under for forty-nine seconds already. I tried to get off but she held me tight up so she could let me breathe. We were almost there. Kelly's movements were slow and hard at times but pretty fast. There was no way she could hold me up for one minute and fifty-six seconds. And then after two minutes, we were at shore. She threw me on the sand with little to none strength and then fell in the water. A #lifeguard ran up and we wrestled a wave to get her, it was to late. Water kept coming out. The #life guard put his hands on her neck to check the pulse. He took his hand off with a pale face. He shook his head to me. Tears poured out of my eyes. Then her head turned to me. Water was pouring and her eyes red. She laid a trembling hand on my face. And she coughed up more water until her mouth was empty. And then whispered with a weak voice. "If you're safe, and I die. I'm okay with that. I love you Dalla.....s.." And her eyes closed. Her hand and head fell with a thud. I cried so hard that tears stopped but I still screamed and shouted. I didn't want my summer to end like this. But it did. My 17 year old friend Kelly had died trying to save me. REMEMBER! Don't drown!
