Unlock The Enigma Chapter I Through the darkness of the Ramnada Forest, around the darkness of the Calian Mountains, across the Tylany Lake. Look beyond these dreary landscapes; look hard enough and you may just spot something you wouldn't expect to see. A little village, deep down, around paths that are almost invisible. A village with not much to look at; the village that is known as Huntle, has within it a couple shops, and to keep it simple, within is less than a hundred residence. Now, start from the village and go out. Out through the dreary landscapes, and beyond. There had been something there, something that was once good. A beautiful landscape, mountains reaching high into the sky, all purple and silhouetted against the dawning sky. In the reach of this wondrous land there once lay a kingdom. Not the ordinary kingdom where the ruler is unjust and cruel, but caring and understanding. The citadel rose up over most, and shadowed the lower kingdom brut shadow though was not cold and downcast, but warm and welcoming, a sense of comfort came forth from the shadow. Paltan, the once wondrous kingdom has fallen. The kingdom has beck sick, the line of Prylyn has disappeared, and now, there is no one to care for the kingdom. The kingdom will be mentioned again, but it will have to wait. Point yourself back now, through the dark paths and beyond, to the little village, Huntle. Three main shops stand on Huntles Mainstreet; an inn, known as Walder Inn, a food market everyone calls 'The Gathering Place', and a tack and stable known as Wilton's Tack and Stable. Most of Huntles habita-tion live in town, on Mainstreet, there are a few who dwell out of town and farm, or prefer the company of themselves, and family. Amidst these lonely homes lay a small cottage. This particular cottage is the home of the Aldcrests. Bert and Jeveni Aldcrest are fairly new to Huntle, and also fairly new weds when the arrived. They've never had any children of their own, so they adopted two girls. Tyluthny contemplates where she came from, same as her sister, well not exactly sister, he half sister Unitia. She knows they were both adopted but no one, not even her parents, can tell her anything about her background. She thinks of the town of Huntle very fondly. But of late she want to know more about who she is, and where she came from. Deep, down inside of her she can sense Unitia, and her parents know something, but they are not willing to provide the answers to her questions. "Tyluthny!" Unitia called her over with the wave of her hand. "Do you mind coming on a ride with me? And of coarse Bluno." Whenever Unitia has the chance she takes good old Bluno out for a ride. She would ride all day if she had nothing else that needed tending to. "Yes, I'll be right there!" Tyluthny replied with a smile. "I will tack up Zedt." Unitia is a wonderful sister towards Tyluthny. She is a couple years older and has a beautiful face. Her had is long, and the color of cornsilk blowing in the wind. Her eyes are deep sea green, hiding secrets, and full of joy. "Where are we riding to?" Tyluthny asked as she led Zedt to where Untita and Bluno were patiently waiting. "Wherever the wind takes us." Unitia the romantic on if the two replied, with a dazzling smile. Unitia is astride her palomino, the wind blowing through both her and Bluno's hair. The palomino is one of the taller horses owned by the Aldcrests. He is a perfect height for Unitia, seeming how Unitia is a fairly tall young woman. They are a sublime match, Bluno is closely the same color as Unitias hair, all golden and gleaming. When they ride they drift as one. Tyluthny on the other hand is small and petite, so Zedt is the perfect match for her. Not to mention Tyluthny is the only person that Zedt will give heed to. Zedt is also a palomino, but of a different sorts. He's short for a palomino, and he is dark. He changes colors from black, to mohagany, and once on a while to light bay. With a smile Tyluthny replies, "You can be the wind then, and I will follow along." She mounted Zedt then, and they were off. Galloping away, with the noonday sun reaching for the Calian Mountains to the west. With their hair billowing behind them, looking much like the shadows forming along the mountains, they nudge their steeds into a whisk. Tyluthnys hair will appear mostly looking as a dark mahogany. Other times it will appear to be as black as ravine wings in the midnight sky, when the#moondoes not show. She has beautiful delicate features. Her skin soft ivory, when it sees too much sun it becomes cre-amy textured. Her eyes. There has never been any like the. In the sun they will shine bright teal, but on cloudy days, or in the dark they will glow as moonlight steel. They will also change with her emotions, but she nor anyone has noticed the unusual changing, because she is always joyful around people, they've only exper-ienced the two distinct changes. "What have you been thinking about of late?" Unitia asked unexpectedly as they were slowing their mounts into a smooth jaunt. Caught off guard by the question, she didn't know how to reply. She simply asked in return, "What do you mean?" "What I mean is; you have been thinking quite often these days, I can tell because I am your sister, and you had been more distant from me, Ma and Pa. I want to know if there is something trouble you, and if there is something troubling you, and if there is something wrong, maybe I could help." Tyluthny did not to know what to say. She hadn't noticed, until Unitia had brought it up now, that she was more distant. She had wanted to talk to her sister, about what was troubling her, but she hasn't known how to bring it up. She was also worried anything what her dear sister would think of her. "Well," she hesitated. "I have been thinking about where I actually came from, and who my real parents are." Her bright teal eyes were distant, and full of wonder. "I know what you mean. I also have been thinking about that of late. Sometimes I have the urge to pack up my belongings, and ride Bluno away, and find the answers to every question there ever was. It is almost as if there is someone behind me, in the back of my head telling me to ride away." There was a moment of silence as they both contemplate what Unitia said, with their own thoughts. The sun setting further down to touch the mountains. The sky becoming soft pink and violet, with a touch of velvety orange, to outline the sun. Long grass fields shimmering in the calming breeze. The two sisters started back for home once they realized they were going to be late for supper. Chapter II In the kingdom of Paltan the Kingdom Holders, or the Anti-Monarchy,(some people may call them) are going berserk. There was a rumor saying the long lost line of Prylyn has been discovered the descendent though has not been seen, or found. The Kingdom Holders have not a clue of where the mysterious descendent, is by they will not let a soul find him to restore the dynasty. The Kngdom Holders used to be what their title states. But no more do they hold the kingdom for the next reign. They now hold the kingdom for themselves, they took over the country, and the castle. No more monar-chy, no more rulers of the kingdom Paltan. Even though try conflict with monarchy they still have a ruler, or what they call him "their leader". He is called Captain Chet Diffley. Without his knowing the villagers, and the people of Paltan, gave him the name 'The Teddy'; because of his brown shoulder length hair, large fluffy, brown beard, and not to mention his shape is round, all the way. Major Tultan Urbandale glides into the once throne room, to where the Captain awaits for information about the scion of Prylyn. "Was there anything said abut where the whereabouts of the unknown heir of Prylyn?" Tultan Urbandale stands at the foot of the dais. He can feel the dark throne room air seep into his skin, and straight to the bones. Major Urbandale is not a young man, nor old man. He is in his middle years, the cold will affect his bones, swiftly. "No. There has been no more rumors, other than the ones already addressed to you." The sun is beginning to shine through the western windows. But no sunlight can warm up the insides of this once glorious castle, that is now transfo-rmed into a weaponry division. "May I make a sugges-tion?" Tultan Urbandale hesitated. "What type of sugge-stion?" Captain Chet Diffley is beginning to get on edge. "I've been listening, and studying the people of Paltan, and I couldn't help but notice, no one seems to know where this heir could possibly be staying. I was beginning to get worried after this realiza-tion. So I came up with a plan." The Major states, becoming more confident in himself. "What is this plan of yours?" Chey Diffley is loosing his patients. "You can hire a tracker. One of those men who love their lives in the woods, finding things, using the forest for their resources. That Captain, is what I believe should be done." A moment of silence followed as Captain Chet Diffley pondered the prospects. "Do you know of such a man?" "I may Captain, but I will have to look into it." Another moment of stillness, as the two faced each other. "We have been partners for a long while now, I will not fail you." Chet holds his gaze a moment longer, then finally sighed, "Fine, do it your way." Then more firmly, "But find that man." Vincent Tontello was seated in the corner of the Bunda Inn. Silhouetted by the shadows, and the dancing flames along the wooden walls. Listening, and watching the moves of every being within the walls of the calming Inn. He caught the site of a man gliding towards him. He doesn't have the large build of a hardworking man, but more gaunt. He may be more strong than what shows outside. But not a very suitable match for Vincent. As the man nears Vincent Tontello scans for his hidden dagger inside his long coat, when the insignia of a prancing stallion over the mans heart. Kingdom Holder, Vincent mumbled, harshly under his breath. The stranger sauntered up to the table at which Vincent Tontello was seated. "Good evening." The Kingdom Holder greeted him casually. "If you say." Vincent replied bluntly. Coolly the other gestured to the empty chair, asked, "May I sit?" The other made a stern nod. "Would you by chance know of a man by the name of Vincent Tontello?" The foreigner inquired, while seating himself on the vacant wooden chair. "What do you want of him?" "That information is concealed... Unless you can tell me of you know of him." The Major remar-ked, remaining calm. Vincent Tontello enjoys beating around the bush, and making the officers get on edge. "If I tell you I know where he may be staying-" "Just tell me if you know of him, and where he may be!" The Major is now loosing his patients. "Vincent Tontello is my name." Thy held each others gaze for an instant. "Now, what do you want of Vincent Tontello?" He inquired with a slight corner smile. "I am Major Tultan Urbandale." He wasn't particularly liking this mans sense of humor. "I have an opportunity for you, to earn something you have always desired." Then added, "Within reason of coarse." Vincent thought it over a moment. "What is it you ask me to do?" "The Captain needs you to find someone. I have heard rumors that you are the best tracker in the country ." "Who does the Captain need me to find? Why could the Captain not send one of his own men?" Vincent is still lenient of giving a straight answer. "This particular man is important, and needs to be found, as swift as possi-ble." "What makes this particular man so primary to the Captains needs?" "Do you take the role, or not?" Tultan Urbandale lost his patients. "I have to know inform-ation on this man, if I am to track him." Vincent states casually. "I need all the information on this man you can give me." Major Tultan just sits, not knowing what to do, or say. As the two men sit there, one waiting, and the other lost for words, finally Tultan declares faintly, "We have no information." Vincent was aghast. "How do you have no knowledge of this man? Who is he, do you know that much?" "Yes." He is weary of this conversation, with this particular man. He lowers his voice and adds, "He is the heir to the line of Prylyn." The room seemed to go silent, however no other could hear them. Everything appearing to be remote, dancing shadows slowed, the noise dying away. The long lost heir found? How could this be? Vincent was in the middle of his jumbled thoughts when the Major cut in. "Will you take the offer?" Vincent just stared at the flames dancing atop the candles. "What will you do when, or if I find him?" He asked already sensing what was already intended for the man. "That is none of your concern." Tultan snapped, and added, "Do you take the proposition?" Vincent Tontello is a smart man. He is young for a tracker, but he's seen more than some. As he contemplates his pros, and cons of this allege, his dark eyes seeking. Seeking for proof, sense, and truth in the other mans words. What is stopping me? Any other quest proposition I would have agreed to. This one is different, there is no information to go by. No proof, of any sorts. That doesn't answer my question. There have been many other with not much to go by, and I still took them, and finished. As Vincent mulls over his own thoughts Major Tultan Urbandale stares into the eyes of the tracker, waiting for an answer. He and Captain Chet Diffley have been comrades for many long years, he gave his word that he would get the best tracker, to seek out the list heir, and bring him back to the Captain of the Kingdom Holders. He cannot give up on this man, the best tracker in the county. He will persuade him with anything he can, so he does the job. "You say I can have anything I desire?" Vincent asked over a short amount of time. "Yes, if it is within reason." "Do I have to tell you what I desire before I start my expedition?" "No, you can spend the whole time coming up with what it is you want." "I may have to do that. I will take the offer." Vincent thinks to himself, why couldn't you make your mind up quicker? "That's swell. I will meet you in the morning, with the Captain, in the castle library. Have a good evening." Major Tultan Urbandale hastily moves through the crowd, and out the door of the Inn. Chapter III William Kohlan races for the home of the Aldcrests, on his large brown steed. The sun is just now starting to show itself again after the long night hours. He rides as swift as possible without his horse hurriedly tiring. As he approaches Bert Aldcrest steps out onto the outside platform of the small cottage, to catch sight of who is riding near to their humble home. William Kohlan hurriedly halts his labored breathing horse, and swings himself down to the ground. "Hello William, is there something troubling you?" Bert said, with a small concern. "Hello Mr. Aldcrest. I have urgent information to discuss with you and Mrs. Aldcrest." William announced, glancing into the cottage window which was lighted by an oil lamp. Inside the small home Jeveni Aldcrest moves for the door as her husband motions her forward with his hand. The two sisters are seated on a small settee alongside the eastern wall, next to a fireplace. In front of the fireplace, some feet away stands an old wooden rocking chair, that was made by Bert Aldcrest. As William looks inside the cottage, for that brief second he catches the eyes of Unitia. Her lovely sea green eyes, are laden of question, and worry.
