The Dream I was running when I felt his hand close around my ankle and I fell. I kicked out with my free leg and felt it connect with his face. He laughed eerily but let go. I staggered up off the cobblestones and began to run again. I ran blindly into an alley and climbed the fence of the first yard I came to. I managed to land on my feet in the backyard of a three story house. I struggled to find footing in the long, tangled grass as I made for the house. Once I reached the house I knocked wildly on the door. Nothing. The house remained silent. I sunk to the ground defeated. Suddenly the door flung open and the monster reached out and grabbed me by my hair. He began to drag me inside. I let out a piercing scream. When I wake up it is dark. I am lying in my room. I sigh with relief. Out of nowhere I hear a footstep near the end of my bed. I pull the covers over my head in an attempt to hide. Another footstep comes right before my covers are pulled off. I am terrified. I live alone. I reach towards my bedside table and quickly flick on the light. I scream when I turn and see him standing at the end of my bed. I bolt past him to the door and run through my house. I run out my front door and out into the street. I am running when I feel his hand close around my ankle and I fall.
