In The Over Grown Garden I had a look around, seeing what I was dealing with today. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Kingsley Hewitt. I work for 'green dream' a small company in witch helps with over grown gardens, creating amazing gardens and so on. Witch is why I am here today. An over grown garden. How most of the gardens that become overgrown is beyond me. I mean, there is always a little time to cut The grass, right? Oh well, I am not one for judging so easily, I just find it... Strange that people find no time to garden. But like I said; I don't judge easily. This garden had something... Different. "So, what have we here?" I asked the man who had been waiting for me. "The House was abandoned around five days ago, no one knows why. Anyway, we need you to clean the garden so others can buy, look around you know the kinda stuff." Said the man. "Sure. I've seen worse." I shrugged, however, looking back at the garden I saw stinging nettles, grass as tall as the house, small flowers planted everywhere and some mud, it was... Strange though. The man drove off and I was left to clean the garden. But before I did it was a habit to go look around first, something I was used to doing now. As I went down the back of the Garden I saw roses, chains, trees and a whole lot more old rusty and flowery-like stuff. "What a mess." I said to myself shaking my head. As I went deeper into the garden I saw something terribly horrid. Or at least, something that would bring tears to ones eyes. If you did not like to see this mind of thing, it's hard to explain. A necklace and teddy bear - whom I presume belonged to a small girl. What if the previous owners where killed? It was very muddy, maybe their aaa a flood? No.. The man said they had ABANDONED the house. Someone would've come by if their was a flood, to get their belongings. Questions began flooding my mind, something I did not do often when on the job. As I went on I swore I could hear a moving like sound? Of course I went to investigate. "Hello?" I said trying not to sound scared, I was worried it was a killer or someone like that. I kept walking until I across a dog house. I went and had a look see if their was a dog, but then I decided not to.. What if it was dead?! I Am a dog lover, therefore it would be a tragic thing to find such a thing. However, curiosity, as they say - killed the cat, and I went over to see what was in that dog house. The chain that once held a dog had been broken. I couldn't do anything anyway, so I best go get this job done. It was around 9pm and I had nearly finished the garden. When I heard a strange noise again. "What could that possibly be?" I asked myself, it was getting closer and closer. "Who's their?!" I demand. I was about to raise my shovel in the air when o saw a black nose? What could this be? I saw a head poke through, a dog head, I stopped doing what I was doing and became calmer and less violent. "Hello there, come here, it's okay I shan't hurt you." I said, getting on my knees and leaning my hand out. The dog came closer; it looked starved. I remember I had a left over piece of sandwich in my pocket! "Here you go" I said giving or the sandwich, "it" was a boy. After a few moments of bonding I decided I would take him home. It seems like the right thing to do; besides it will somewhat help the animal shelters I guess. I packed my things away, as I did so "lucky" , the dogs new name, followed me. "C'mon Lucky." I said jumping into my van, driving home with my new found friend. A few weeks later and me and lucky are getting on great! He's now legally mine. I'm just so happy I got to go to That place. Actually, I was right about it too. Their was a flood; so the family left, leaving their poor loving dog behind. This dog was lucky, a good reason to name him Lucky, too. ------- Hope you all enjoyed that short story!
