Annamaria She awoke, the cold light of morning creeped through the drapes as if it were planned to rise her from the cold dead she sleep she bestowed onto herself, bottle still in hand, third night in a row. She stood up with haste, too much haste, the room started to spin, what happened last night, a single empty glass lay on the floor but was not thrown or dropped but simply toppled, still no recollection. She checked her phone, you have no new messages, story of her #life. as she stumbled into bathroom, barely any self esteem to go with the lack of clothes. Her mind would slowly recollect on the nights previous events, hopefully anyway. After staring at herself in the mirror for a good 5 Minutes, finding little cuts and bruises around her chest and shoulders, she just brushed them off as if they were nothing, standard night. The door was locked and no sign of actually going anywhere last night, 3 bottles of wine and a dinner for one. Oh yeah, that’s what happened. Finding it harder and harder to cope with the same day to day routine, she found herself staring at a painting, it was a piece by Dorothea Tanning, painted over seventy years ago in Germany, around the time Adolf was trying to save the world in his dark warped way anyway. It had a little way of making her feel that she was not alone, that there is true meaning for her purpose in this world, she has yet to find it but one day it will scream through her mind and her true purpose will be known until then, time for work. as she dragged herself into the shower she noticed the loud din coming from outside, construction rumbled and cars flew past on one of the busiest roads in the city. Living with this was hard but i guess you just get used to it after a couple of years, all she knew is that it hurt, the loudness ploughing through her mind like the heavy drill breaking the pavement outside her window. As she entered the shower she felt the burn, it wasn’t even hot but the sensitivity of her skin was so high. Damn wine. Feeling the beads of water running down her velvet like warn skin was bliss, a wake up call of the gods, just what she needed to cure this devil inside her head, he liked to be called Merlot and lingered in her brain most days. Jumping out the shower almost slipping and falling on her face, saved by the shower curtain instead of bouncing her head off the sink, could of been a way out, silly reflex actions saved her once again, she wondered.. if only she didn’t have any then she would be free from the constant melancholy of this #life. Better luck next time miss now get to work before they fire your ass. Toweling herself down and drying her hair, all the while with the sweet linger of U2 on the radio, Sunday Bloody Sunday, oh so true but it was not Sunday, just a normal Wednesday morning, get to work. Rummaging around through draws and her wardrobe looking for a suitable shirt to wear she cursed herself for never having he effort to do the washing or look after herself, at last right at the back of the bottom draw a clean yet crumpled shirt was found, no time to iron, its OK she was used to looking like she had been dragged through a bush backwards before work. One day she will prove the world wrong and be the most elegant creature to walk the earth, not today but one day. searching high and low for keys she found her name badge lying on the floor, Hello My name is Anna Maria and i will be the headline of this story.
