Epilogue I lay on my back atop the rambling hill, my vision clouded by a deep and alluring blue whilst the sun beat down on me, heating my damp skin. I craned my neck to the side because it was easier to look at the shivering emerald flower stalks than being reminded of my wistful past. The giant and glowing fireball in the sky brought an ache to my heart – if I allowed my lids to fall then the blindingly white light would creep through my thick eyelashes and cause my soul to ache and burn in a torturous way. Having enough of feeling sorrowful I dragged myself into a sitting position as a huff of breath escaped from my meagre lungs. I had almost forgotten how to breathe. I wanted to view the world which was resting peacefully below me. There was a lake at the foot of the hill which was shimmering like it housed a million precious jewels. Reflected on the lakes surface were the lazy opalescent clouds, drifting into each other as if they had been #lifelong lovers, caught in an embrace. A crystal clear tear slid down my cheek at the mere thought of the loss I had endured. I realised that my crimson lips had deep cracks burrowing into the flesh, causing them to throb in a strangely pleasant way. This movement from within reminded me that there was #life running through my veins, just begging to be used. My body had become a vacant shell, housing nothing but my own demise. ©08/02/13
