Only Child (2) I stood lonely and hungry in the dusty apartment, on my own. My father was gone and I had to fend for myself. I clambered to the kitchen, tears rolling down my cheek. I opened the cupboard on top of the sink and grabbed the spare keys and the spare money my father and I kept for emergencies. As I was about to check my food supplies a truck pulled up outside and walked straight to the front door.
