The Parrot Island - Chapter 1 Rebecca barely rembered the night when her parents died. She remembered the scream, loud and terrible. She remembered when the boat sank, slowly taking every passenger down into the depths of the sea. For some reason, she landet on a grey thing and it took her away from the dangerous sea, away from her parents... Then everything turned black for her, and she didn't know what happend next. After the accident, she got told that it was a dolphin that helped her away from the ocean and brought her to where she was now: the Parrot island. It layed outside the southern coast of Africa. The people we're so kind and they helped her in so many ways as possible. She got a own house - it wasn't the biggest size but Rebecca loved it - and a parrot. On the Parrots Island they had a tradition that everyone on their 8th birthday got to choose a parrot - a soulmate - wich they took care of. Rebecca's parrot were called Alison and had green, pink and yellow feathers on her body. It was monday and Rebecca waked up in time to go to school. She looken at her calender and remembered; today was the official parrot day! "Come on, Alison, it's your big day today!" she said to Alison who slowly waked up. Rebecca ate a banana sandwich and then put on her clothes; a red T-shirt and jeans shorts. She brushed her hair and then put it into a braid. "Done." she said. "Yes, sir." said Alison. Rebecca smiled; Alison could talk more than all the other parrots on the island. When Alison sat on Rebecca's shoulder, Rebecca started to go to school. It was a sunny day but Alison kept saying "Danger! Danger!" After a while Rebecca thought that Alison were a bit annoying so she said: "What is dangerous?" But Alison just shaked her head and kept saying "Danger! Danger!" Rebecca sighed; to have the most talkative parrot on the island was not as fun as everybody thought, especially not now. Rebecca ignored Alison and just enjoyed the sunshine. It was going to be a hot and long day, as the old man had told her a year ago: "If the sunrise is early, the sunset will be late." Alison knocked on Rebecca's head. "School!" she screamed, very upset. Rebecca laughed at Alison's wild look; her eyes were just as big as two coconuts, her little tounge were out of her mouth and she flapped her wings. "Hey, calm down Alison, it's just school." said Rebecca. Alison stopped flapping her wings but she was still very upset. When Rebecca tried to open the door she realized it was locked. "What?" she said confused. "The day starts at 9 am and it's 8:50 am... If someone were here it should be open a long time ago!" "Danger! Danger!" screamed Alison. Rebecca realized that Alison were right; something were wrong. "Whatever it is, we need to be together, okay? Don't fly away from me, stay here, okay?" said Rebecca to Alison who nodded. "Stay here." said Alison. Rebecca hold Alison tight while she ran down to the village. Everyone stood there, and the mayor talked to the scared people. "Ah! Rebecca, our little friend, I thought you had been kidnapped by the pirates! Thank god you haven't." said Mary-Lou, the mayor, "The pirates? What is going on here?" Rebecca shouted.
