Chapter One: Welcome Back 10-5-12 Dear Diary , I know I usually make fun of people who write in a diary but there on mistakes I make that I can't tell anyone, not even my best friends. And who knows maybe I learn from them. First of all I just finished filming my first movie ever, "Oklahoma". It's been an amazing experience but also been very lonely. I have my older sister to hang out with but I miss my friends. I haven't seen them in six months. My best friend Jesse and Mitzi just came back from their vacation in Canada. I talked to Jesse yesterday he sounded really happy to be returning home. I can't wait to see him. Love, Leslie Byron Leslie hid her diary under her bed. She reached over to her nightstand and turned off her light. Then she turned on her nightlight above her bed. She cuddled up to a pillow and fell asleep. *** Jesse got up to his alarm ringing, he slowly got out of bed and walked over to the bathroom to relieve himself. He looked in the mirror as he washed his hands. I had to get a rash just when I'm almost going home, he thought miserably. After he finished rubbing lotion on his face and arms he went back to his room and ordered room service. *** Leslie picked up her dirty clothes that were scattered all over her room. She usually kept her room clean but she hadn't had any free time with all the interviews she did. "Oklahoma" was doing better then she expected. Critic gave it 4 1/2 stars and is probably going to be nominated for an Emmy. After she was done she laid down on her bed ,exhausted, and turned on her TV. She flipped through the channels until something caught her attention. Josh Hutcherson her new celebrity crush. He had a new movie coming out called "The Hunger Games". Which of course she was going to watch. She wasn't paying much attention to the trailer. Her focus was on Josh. She melted whenever he smiled. She has been addicted to him ever since "Bridge to Terabithia". She must have been put on a trance by Josh's chocolity brown eyes because she didn't hear someone come into her room. She was interrupted from her daydreams from someone shaking her shoulder. She turned around to see it was her older sister Melanie. "Am I interrupting?"Melanie smirked. Leslie blushed, "I really want to see this movie." she lied. "Really? What's the movie about?" Leslie if possible blushed even more."Uh...its about people in...Africa...getting...fed by Josh Hutcherson". Melanie raised an eyebrow."Alright you got me." "Anyways ,you little pervert, have you finished packing we're leaving early tomorrow." "Could you help me?" Leslie asked and gave her sister the sad puppy dog look. Melanie rolled her eyes but agreed. "Did you forget anything?" Melanie asked. Leslie yawned and shook her head. Melanie closed the mini van and they both got in the van and started their six hour trip. Leslie slept for the first few hours of the trip. They stopped at a McDonald's for breakfast.Leslie decided to blog once they were almost home. "So just a few more minutes 'til I get home. I can't wait mostly because I can't feel my butt anymore. How are you holding up Mel?" Leslie turned her phone to Melanie. "I had five cups of coffee so I'm amazing!" Melanie said pretending to be jittery. "Am I shaking I feel like I'm shaking?" Leslie turned her phone at herself."That's not something I want to hear while your driving me." Leslie said pretending to sound worried. "Hurry up Les." Melanie said as she recorded Leslie. Leslie jumped out of the car seat."Ah. My legs are a little stiff. Give me a minute." "She's nervous." Melanie said quietly so Leslie wouldn't hear her. "I'm not nervous!" Leslie exclaimed. "Yeah she's nervous." Melanie said this time Leslie didn't hear her. After Leslie stretched they walked over to the front door. They rang the doorbell and waited for a reply. A few seconds later a pregnant blonde woman opened the door. "Hey mom." Melanie said as she hugged the blonde woman. "Hi mom." Leslie said as she stepped away from Melanie's side to hug her mom. "Oh my gosh I don't even recognize you, your hair!" Mrs Byron said smoothing out Leslie's hair. "I had to dye it for the movie. Where's dad?" "Oh, come in he's in the living room." They walked in and saw their dad and two other people. Leslie's best friend,Mitzi, and her mom. They all got up once they saw Leslie and Melanie. Mr Byron walked over to his older daughter and hugged her. "How was the drive?" "Fine, just hit a couple of pedestrians." Melanie joked. "Funny." Mr Byron said shaking his head. He turned his attention to his youngest daughter. "How's my little munchkin." He hugged her and ruffled her hair. "Tired. Melanie kept me up she and her 'friend' were always making a lot of noise at night." "She's lying." Melanie reassured her dad then punched Leslie. She greeted the rest of her guest. Then all the adults and Melanie went to the kitchen leaving Leslie and Mitzi in the leaving room. "So where's Jesse?" Leslie asked. "It took you longer to ask that then I thought. I thought that was going to be the first thing you say." "So where is he?" "At home he said he was really tired. He'll be here tomorrow." Mitzi assured. "Oh." Leslie said feeling little disappointed. They continued talking and catching up until Mitzi had to go home. Leslie went up stairs to her room. Nothing has changed other than an empty chip bag on her bed that was probably let by her older brother, Anthony. She picked it up and threw it away. She laid down on her bed and took out her diary. Dear Diary, Well I back home the Evan's where here except Jesse. And Hayley to. Well there's not much I could write. I'm starting school on Monday. I think it's going to suck its going to the seventh grade and I'm going to be way behind on school work. Leslie closed her diary and set it aside. She pulled off her comforter and pulled it over her slender body and fell asleep. *** Jesse ran up to his porch panting. He checked his watch 12:41. He spent almost seven hours in the woods. He leaned against his house and mopped the sweat off his forehead. He was going to go inside but then stopped. He looked over to the direction of Leslie's house. He wondered if she was still awake. He quietly walked off his porch and started running toward her house. He was exhausted once he got there, their houses were a mile apart. He looked up at her window her bedroom light was on. He smiled then took out his phone. He called her. There was no reply. He called her again. No reply. He called her five more times. Nothing. He put his phone away and picked up some pebbles that were on the floor and threw them on the window. She still wasn't answering. He decided to climb up to her window. *** Leslie got up she thought she heard something hit her window. She walked over to her window and pulled apart her curtains. She stepped back as she saw a figure crouched outside. It was Jesse. She sighed and opened her window. Jesse leaned forward to to get in but Leslie pushed him back. "Are you going to to leave me out here?" Jesse asked steading himself on on roof. "I think it's better if we talk outside, Anthony is probably still awake." Jesse nodded and stepped aside so Leslie can climb out the window. They climbed down a tree to the ground. Once the they were on the ground they smiled and hugged each other but Leslie pulled away fast and commented on Jesse's hygiene. "What are you doing here?" Leslie asked. "I was in the neighborhood." Jesse said casually. Leslie rolled her eyes. "So where do you want to go." Jesse asked. "Lest go to the treehouse I kind of miss it." Leslie said. Jesse smiled and nodded and started walking toward the woods. Leslie stopped walking, "Hold on." She turned on the light on her phone and started walking again. They walked until they reached the treehouse that Leslie's dad built when she was five. They climbed on Jesse turned on the lantern. Leslie sat down on a trunk Jesse sat down on a beanbag that was across the room. "So how was your movie?" Jesse asked. "It was very tiring, I had to wake up at 60 every morning." "Aw you poor thing." Jesse said pouting. "How was Canada?" Leslie asked. "Epic I got to meet Sum 41." "Really?!" "Yeah they signed my t shirt. I'll show you tomorrow." Leslie nodded speechless. "They also asked me to join the band." Jesse lied. Leslie sighed and felt a little disappointed. Jesse smiled."I'm just playing I did get to eat..." "Why weren't you at my house earlier?" Leslie interrupted. "I was tired." Jesse said. "But your not tired now." Leslie pointed out. "Well I slept a lot." Jesse lied. Leslie raised an eyebrow. "You know I can tell when you are lying." "Alright fine, I was fixing up the treehouse. I knew you would want to come up here." Jesse admitted sheepishly. Leslie looked around. Everything was so neat. The CDs were neatly stacked the windows were spotless and the treehouse even had a scent on pine. "Well I love it. I would kiss you but you smell like a skunk." "Yeah well I wouldn't talk. You smell like...uh...Cheese!" Leslie laughed sarcastically. "Good one Pepe le pew." Jesse got a stuffed animal that was on a bookshelf and threw it at Leslie. It missed Leslie completely and hit the wall. Leslie picked up the toy and threw it back. It hit Jesse straight in the forehead. Leslie went into fits of laughter as Jesse moaned and rubbed his forehead dramatically. Leslie stopped laughing. "Pull yourself together pamsy."she said as she punched his arm. "Ow! You hit my bruise." Jesse exclaimed as he rubbed his arm. "What happened to you?" "I fell down a landing when I was snow boarding. You should see the giant scratch that I have on my side." Jesse got up and took off his shirt to show her his injury. But Leslie wasn't paying attention to the scratch she was looking at Jesse's body. She had seen him shirtless lots of times but this time it was different. His arm and chest muscles were more defined and he was also getting a six pack. She ended up staring at his 'V's'. Jesse put his shirt back on and sat down on the beanbag chair. "Pretty bad ,eh?" Leslie shook her head and tried not to make eye contact. "You want to go back home, it's getting late." Jesse showed her the time. Leslie looked at the time on Jesse's phone. It was almost 40. She nodded and they started heading home. They ran most of the way it was getting windy. Leslie's brown hair kept blowing in her face. It took them ten minutes to get to Leslie's house. They were both slightly out of breath when they got there. Jesse's jet black hair was sticking to his forehead. They said there goodbyes and almost hugged but Leslie remembered seeing Jesse use his shirt to wipe off his sweat so instead shook his hand. Leslie climbed up the tree to her room. She sat down on her desk chair and stared at Jesse as he jogged away. She shook her head to make herself focused. She went to her bathroom and took a quick shower then put on her pajamas. She climbed up her raised bed and layed her head down on something hard. She got up and saw it was her diary. She flipped it to her last entry and realized she didn't finish. She took out a pen and started writing. Dear Diary , continued Never mind Jesse did show up, a little stinky but still. We went to the woods to our old treehouse. We were talking about his trip to Canada when he showed me his cut he got from snowboarding. He took off his shirt and then I felt something different. I've never felt like this about Jesse. The night was fun but awkward. Well until next time. Love, Leslie Byron window. Jesse leaned
