Poppy Day Vermillion, crimson, titian, A reminder of the soldiers fighting, The breeze coaxes them to dance, The soldiers battle as if in a trance, Their heavy, silky petals ruffle proudly, The piercing sound of gunfire resounds around the battlefield;loudly, Their emerald stems support the ample head, Whilst the soldiers must plough through a carpet of the dead, They bask in the sun, The soldiers must run, A confetti of special flowers scattered across graves- piled high on the mound, Whilst blood of innocent soldiers stained the ground, Poppy day, To commemorate those who passed away, Fighting for us...
