Sending A Message Chapter 1 The girl was cute and innocent looking. She walked about with a happy smile on her face, a genuinely nice person just going through #life without bothering anyone. Of course, this made them take notice of her. It probably didn't help that she wasn't, as they would put it "fit". Standing at just over 5 feet, she was a curvy girl, but by no means overweight. He face was cute, with coloured eyes, sparkling away. Something about her screamed "target" to them, set of some sort of reaction in their brain, making them take notice of her as she walked past them. Of course, it helped that she wanted them to notice, so had gone out of her way to make it happen. She wore a purple backpack that was slightly open, as it had something long and wrapped protuding from the back, making it unable to be zipped closed. She walked with her purse in one hand, her phone in the other, idly texting, or stopping to count her money from time to time. They were typical of their type, they all dressed in track suit bottoms, some had jackets to match, others had vests, one had no top on at all. She continued down the street, looking in various windows. They followed her, keeping their eyes on her, as a predator stalks unaware prey. They were laughing and braying in their guttural version of speech. Not talking about how easy a target she was of course, only mentioning her at all to make fun of her, her body shape, her smile, her glasses. But not enough to draw her or anyone elses attention. They never drew direct attention, the type they got was directed at their backs. Glares to the rear of their heads, tuts and under breath mutters. No-one ever said anything to their faces, were to afraid to draw the anger of the group. And so they went through #life, preying on those they saw as weaker, Beating and robbing, then leaving them. Of course, being a girl, she had something else they could take from her. The police couldn't do anything about them. If arrested they were never charged with anything, they had a handful of Anti Social Behaviour Orders each, and enjoyed them. They saw them as badges of honour. Rewards for all their hard work in the areas of vandalism and thuggery. One had been to prison on a short sentence, but had come out of there even more sure of himself(of course he'd only been in a minimum securirty facility, despite his crimes, his solicitor had seen to that). No this group were not afraid of the law, because the law in this country has no teeth, no bite. To focussed on rehabilitation, and what causes people to commit crimes, instead of punishing people for commiting them. And so groups had had slowly turned into mobs, all over the country, of these human shaped beasts, who bullied and battered and stole from and raped whatever honest citezen they wanted to, knowing there was nothing to fear, no reprisals. At least not from the police.
