Problem: How can IT be used effectively in the English classroom whilst still developing handwriting skills. The aim: Integrate effective use of IT into the English learning programme, improving literacy and comprehension. Week 1 Got an iPad today! An initial two week trial to discover if it can make a difference to learning. There are problems which have been identified, as an English practitioner there are many concerns regarding over use of IT whilst still preparing students effectively for writing in an exam. There are, of course many advantages and as students move through the school there understanding of computers and Internet provisions are increasing at a rapid pace. Therefore how can we as a department get ahead of the game. Over the next couple of weeks this will be something that will become increasingly clear.
