How Fate Changed My #life Chapter 1 I picked up the clear plastic folder which held piano sheets and a slim, glossy book also with music notes scattered onto the pages. First day of year nine, and I wouldn't say #life was terrible. Okay, I wasn't considered a 'popular', as such, but I had quite a few friends. As I was thinking, the doorbell rang loudly, and startled our black cat, Valentine. Opening the door, I saw two faces, both of whom I recognised. One of them was a kind of shy, arty boy called Jack, who was quite popular. He was in the art club and always seemed to have paint stained hands. And Jake, king of the populars. He was good at EVERYTHING, and it was maddening. Football captain, on the rugby team, and even if it was the first time he had tried something, he would be good at it. He was okay. A bit full of himself sometimes. Jake and Jack were standing at my front door, And I was slightly confused. 'Um... Hi?', I asked, leaning against the front door. 'Hi.', said Jake plainly. 'We were wondering if you wanted a ride, maybe?', Jack added sweetly. I was about to question them thoroughly, but I just raised my eyebrows slightly and told them I would be right back. In a matter of seconds, I returned and caught a snatch of conversation. 'Idiot, dude! You should go for Gem, or Alexandra or....Not her.' , I heard Jake say. 'Somebody has a crush?', I asked Jack curiously. He grinned sheepishly and went to the car. ..........………
