The Day You Left The day you left my heart cracked It broke. At first I couldn't believe I thought it was a curse, a hoax. Your mom cried, telling me between tears How they found you, mangled and torn Stuffed in the closet Your hands full of lies and scorn. You never told me When you planned to go And I didn't imagine it was my heart I'd have to sew. I bid you farewell, good Alice. And I hope my heart can mend. For that day I lost someone.
