Another Day Millie - 16th August She starred at her reflection in the mirror. She'd never quite be the pretty girl that men desired. She sighed, pulling her hair into a side parting, making it easier to hide from the world. Hastily putting on her lack sling back shoes, she headed out for work. She noticed he wasn't in again. He hadn't been in for the past few days. Worst part was his absence alway niggled at her even more... She had to sit opposite his empty desk, and try and ensure he wouldn't be missed by covering his work load too. If she hadn't been so busy doing his work, he might have called him. But she always had the hope he'd call her first, or appear the next day. Three days was really ridiculous. Telling her other colleagues she was just disappearing to the paper room. Her eyes etched into the display on her phone, and her thumb hovered over the green phone button. "Ryan?" she asked gingerly, aware that it could be his girlfriend in the frame that taunted her everything she looked up and saw his desk. "Millie? What is it? What's fucked up now?" he replied. Feeling her eyebrows shoot up, she tried to contain her surprise. Clearly something was bad. "I just thought I'd call to ask for your email password, Hannigan's been on my arse for the new figure tables and I can't access then from my account. Would you mind?" she lied. She had them, of course she had them. "Sure it's kingston46. Anything else?" his voice seemed to beg her to ask... "Well actually, now you mention it... I was wondering when you would return back to work?" she asked. She didn't care about work, she cared about him. Oh too many times had she wanted to dive over the desks and just give him a great big hug... And oh so much more. "Why don't you come over later? It's been eerierly lonely and I could do with the solid head in all of this. And it'll give you the chance to go through next months figures if you bring them all over." his voice sounded casual, but it didn't stop her heart from doing a million beats a minute. "Sure."
