Love Help Alright, I said in my other post that if you have love problems you can come to me. Remember? Well, now I need advice. By now you should know about Isaac, I talk about him a ton. Basically, I like him and I never told him. Unfotunately, last year my so called "friend" blabbed and told him. He thinks I moved on; I even lied saying I moved on. Now he likes another girl (who is better than me) and he just thinks of me as a friends. Long story short, I've been friendzoned. There are a bajillion of you guys out there and one of you is bound to have been friendzoned. Any advice? ~ Chloe

Love Surpasses All This isn't a rant but just something that's been on my mind the past week and a half. First, before I start, I should give you a background, which isn't so easy. If you read my other posts, you know I have a thing for a guy named Isaac. Well, he's an inch shorter than me (that's saying something), BTW, but still cute. Off topic. I was talking to one of my friends, let's call her CB (her initials). We were talking about guys and she started talking about how girls should date guys that are taller than them. I didn't say anything until CB pointed out how short Isaac is, and how she's the only person shorter than him, therefore only she can date him. She didn't know and she still doesn't know I like Isaac. I know I'm dwelling on this too much, but the fact that she's limiting love to superficial things such as height, it got me thinking. Why do people use appearance to decide who they want to date? Yes, you probably heard this lecture before but…just…AGH! People say it's better if the boy's taller and older (like, a few months or maybe a couple years). Why does that matter? I like Isaac and he's an inch shorter. I once liked a guy 2 months younger than me. Back in elementary school I had a crush on a guy that was a month younger than me, and he liked me back! We never went out though. Anyways, despite that Isaac IS cute, I didn't like him right away because of his looks. I knew him for a few years, in school and in theatre. I used that time to get to know him and actually develop a friendship. Yeah, I have the I'm-in-love-with-my-friend situation. I fell for him because he was kind, caring, funny, and smart and HE WASN'T A JERK OR PLAYER! Yes, I had to emphasis that. We ARE different but we also have stuff in common, but it's really our differences that brought us together. Alright, we only saw each other twice outside of school: Ben and Jerry's and a track meet. Comepletely unrelated. Anyways, he had a hard time getting girls because he was short. Seriously? Those girls just rejected him because he was a little shorter? They ignored that he was extremely talented and unlike any other guy. Okay, back to the topic. See the title, Love Surpasses All? That's exactly what I meant with my story. Guys and girls are judged by appearances before someone with a brain gives them a chance. I'm not the prettiest, and no one gave me a chance, aside from Isaac who actually cared a little. Love shouldn't be set with parameters like height or age or race or even gender (I support gay rights). There's a couple at my school that broke up because people made fun of them. Why? Because the girl was white and the guy was black! They broke up because of the horrible stereotypes we had to grow up with. Remember, no matter what others say, love surpasses all. If someone you love is the same gender or different race, it doesn't matter! Go ahead and love who you want because I swear you will not regret it! Love has no boundaries, so why bother setting one up? What good does that do? Forget the media because they don't know you. Everyone is different, and every relationship is different. Go with what you think is right. So, I based this off of my problems and I'm sorry if it's not what you've got. You're all different and I promise you will find your Romeo (or Juliet) one day. I'm only a teenaged girl but if you do need help talk to me and I'll do my best. ~ Chloe

One day you will look back and realize how small everything is. Great. Now we all have to suffer because of one dumbass. You're a twin, not a replica. 75% of your body is water. Don't waste it by crying over someone that never deserved you. I keep the fire inside because letting it out will only hurt those around me. You're given one #life for a reason. We will all die someday, but we all have a legacy that will live on. It doesn't matter who you love. All that matters is you know to love. You're not a bad person because you're different. If you don't mean what you say, you're just wasting your breath. Everyone's here for a reason. It doesn't matter how liked or hated someone is; everyone's destined for great things. The world is like a whiteboard. You can use Expo markers and doodle all you want and it'll be erased or you can be that one crazy person that draws with permanent markers and have it last forever. Hitting rock bottom hurts. Everyone's like a book: different, unique, both good and bad and have something to teach us. Nobody is 100% innocent or 100% guilty. There's no good or bad. And there definately is more than 50 shades of gray. I'm different. So are you. And that guy over there. And the kid in the donut shop. Everyone is different. ~ Chloe

Ad Mortem "Watch out for Ad Mortem, he'll eat you alive!" my grandmother said. "Ad Mortem is just a myth, everyone knows that!" I said back. "He feeds off of fear!" "I don't believe you!" Looking back, I wish I listened to my grandmother. If I listened to her, maybe I wouldn't be in this tower, trapped by an invisible enemy. She told me never to go out at night, and I wish I listened. I went to play in the yard in the summer, outside out little house, and I never thought I'd be so far away from home. It's been 10 years, 10 years I was sentenced to this prison, with no way out. The only light that comes in is the eerie moonlight once in a while. It's almost always dark. The tower was on a tiny island, surrounded by stormy oceans and the island was filled with misty forests with unknown beasts lurking within the dead plants. This is Ad Mortem's island. It's always cloudy during the day and rainy during the night. Summers are cold and winters are colder. I've recieved little food and water, I'm even surprised I survived that long, feeding off of small portions of poisoned food and contaminated water, breathing in air that reeked of death. My only company, aside from Ad Mortem, was a guy around 10 years older than me. He left for food one day and I never saw him again. I was sharpening a stick one day and a curl of black smoke came from the floor and a young boy appeared. He looked no older than I was when I arrived here, maybe 7 or 8 at the most. "W-w-where a-am I-I?" he stuttered. "You don't want to know," I replied darkly. "I know Ad Mortem took me but where am I?" "Ad Mortem's island. His home. How'd you get here?" "Ad Mortem took me. My mum and I were camping and he killed her and took me," the kid bursted into tears. "Everything will be fine," I said,"I'll protect you." Days went by, each one the same as the previous years. The boy wasn't going to survive on rations of contaminated food, and I knew I had to do something. So one day I said,"I'm gonna go look for food." "B-but Ad Mortem! He'll kill you just like he killed my mum!" the kids cried. "I've been watching for 10 years, maybe even longer. I know what he does and I know when it's safe to go out. I have a sharp stick and there are plenty of animals in the forest and fish in the sea." And with that, I watched as the shadow of Ad Mortem's cloak disappeared into the darkening horizon. I waited for a second, making sure the boy's asleep, and climbed down using the cracks and crevices in the cold stone wall. The wind whipped in my face as the rain started pattering down, making the rocks slippery. I reached the ground and for the first time in years I felt the cool mud and grass on my feet, breathing fresher air. I took my stick and headed down a trail into the forest. I heard a rustling in the bushes and saw a squirrel dart across. I threw the stick and the moment it touched the squirrel, the creature's flesh fell apart in ashes, leaving a pile of bleach white bone and shiny gray ashes. I took my stick and hit a blackbird, which exploded in a shower of dark feathers and unusually thick globs of blood. I looked at the trees, which seemed to be smiling deviously and extending their splintery arms, as if trying to choke me. I moved swiftly and saw a glowing red river ahead, coming towards me. It was almost too late when I moved, the river of liquid fire flowing past. The wind whispered barely audible curses at me, and a large shadow seemed to loom over. I felt a blade slash my side and saw blood - my blood - mixing in with the rain and fiery river. Through my blurry vision, I saw the dark cloaked figure of Ad Mortem, holding out a long silver knife now stained with my blood. The wind rushed in my ears and I tried to do something, anything to help myself. I told myself to move but all I could do was blink wearily and barely move my fingertips. I saw the blade come towards me again, and the last thing I remembered was Ad Mortem whispering,"They never learn, do they?" ~ Chloe
