An Elephant's Tale CHAPTER ONE There once was a girl, not any old girl, but a Mongolian girl this eight year old girl's name is Nasel Blyno. Nasel lived on a farm and yes you've guessed it in Mongolia, she liked to watch her father work with the cattle and the sheep and the horses, also loved to watch the clouds with her sister, Sinda, in her spare time she would cook and clean around the house, but she looked after her younger brother, and sometimes she would go up into the mountains on the horses. Nasel was going to move, though her parents did not want to they still thought moving from mongolia to England was a good idea and would get them a better #life. Although Nasel was content and happy and did not know that she would move she was not going to be when she found out. Nasel was out in the cart her father used for carrying dung up to the market for the other farmers who needed it when her sister came running over, " Nasel come in side mother's got a pot from father you should see!" " just one moment" shouted Nasel at the top of her voice and at that her sister ran in side. By the time Nasel got in side the whole family was sitting round the table. " let's see? " asked Nasel "here I told you it was good, mother said she would cook the chicken and the rice for dinner in it". That night just like Sinda said their mother cooked them their rice and chicken in it. Nasel, Sinda and Aski their baby brother went to bed by candle Sinda and Nasel decided that the next day they would go into the mountains and help collect the dung to sell at the market and help cure the meat for the dinner the next day. The next day the two sisters went up the mountains to get the dung and shortly after they had collected enough and no longer needed any more they went and watched the clouds together. CHAPTER TWO That evening their mother gave Nasel the school clothes for the school in England " what are these for this isn't my uniform! Mine isn't an English school. You know that all ready." " I'm sorry Nasel" said her mother" I just couldn't bare to see you looking so sad." " what do you mean I'm not sad, just ... Confused, why do you think I am sad?" " I think that you will be sad if I told you" " told me what?" " that we are moving to England" " england? What do you mean England?" " me and your father think that moving to England will give us a better #life style. I just wish I told you" " but mother I can not speak English! How will I understand what the teacher will be saying?." Sinda who had been listening in had gone to the room she shared with Aski and Nasel and had decided that she was going to have English lessons and was all ready trying to translate a leaflet that she had found in her mother and father's room and was not getting very far. " Father? Asked Nasel " do you think that me and Sinda should go to an English school? Because I don't have to learn English do I?" " yes you do have to, if you want I could get you into English school so that you could learn some of the language all ready so that you are ahead and can understand at least a bit of what the teacher is saying" "ok I suppose" " good girl I knew you would agree let's get Sinda" " where is she any way?" " should we look for her?" "ok but she is probably in your room" " ok I will go and look for her" and with that she was of. " do you think they'll like it? Questioned Nasel, Sinda and Aski's father " I do hope so" replied their mother " me to". CHAPTER THREE Next day the family were moving, everyone had packed all their stuff in the cart and set of to the boat, it was a bit damp inside but Sinda, Nasel and Aski were happy but nervous at the same time. The journey seemed to take forever, finally they arrived in England and still hadn't got to the house that night every one slept on the train so that they would hopefully be at the house by the time they woke up, and sure enough when they woke up to the sound of Aski crying they were only a few minutes away From their new home " I am so excited " said Sinda " me to" said Nasel " I hope that people will like me and translate some stuff the teacher says" " I do to" " Nasel, Aski, Sinda we're here!" " YAY " Came a response from the seats behind " Mother it's beautiful " " yes truly beautiful my girl" " come on I want to go in " " we will just wait one moment wile I unlock the door" " now you can go in go and explore" " but mother do I need to speak English at home? " no you can speak Mongolian here and your teacher will probably have a teaching assistant in the class to help you" " ok" " Sinda? Aski? Where are you?" CHAPTER FOUR Today the children set of to St. Amelia's junior school and met their teacher and it turned out that she could speak Mongolian, French, Chinese, South Korean, and Jamaican! Nasel and Sinda were in different classes but both teachers could speak the same languages so the children were happy that they could speak to the teacher and understand what she said back to them. That evening they were all having dinner " girls do you like your school?" asked their father " yes our teachers can speak Mongolian, French, Chinese, South Korean and Jamaican" " so I can take it that you know what she says" " yes" " well your school sounds very good" " it is." CHAPTER FIVE The family were getting on well there was just one more thing Nasel and Sinda had no friends and their parents needed jobs so that morning their parents went for job interviews and Nasel and Sinda looked for friends and taught them Mongolian with a bit of help from the teachers but at the end of the day were having Mongolian conversations with each other and their parents had both got jobs.
