Our Eyes Met I tried looking at our tickets whilst the crowd was squeezing past us. Row K, seats 22- 25. We made our way to our seats, desperately keeping our drinks from spilling on the people that we were trying to pass. It was the second time I went to the Fun Fair French Circus. Last time around I went there by myself. I enjoyed it so much I thought I should take my closest friends to see it. On the way to the circus I noticed how much I babbled about the circus and how exciting and exillerating it was. I noticed I was spoiling the excitement when Alice gave me a little nudge in the ribs to shut me up. Well here we are now in a huge tent, drinking a pint and sharing a portion of chips. It was a full house. Bright colourful light lit up the tent. When one looked down, one could see a large sandy area where most of the performances would take place. It was quite noisy by the time everyone had taken their seats. It was difficult to communicate with Alice although she sat next to me. Josh and Alex were sitting on the next to Alice, so there was no point in trying to talk to them. Eventually I gave up trying to speak to Alice. We were all very excited, just like everyone else. Although this was my second time at the Circus I had the feeling that I was far more excited than the others. It didn't bother me much, because I knew I'd have my fun even if the others were bored to death. But there was still something that made me feel uneasy. The four of us were old friends going a long way back up to primary school. Even though we always stuck together and all, I was mostly the one who was more on his own than the others. I liked it that way. And it wasn't in any way going to danger our friendship. However whilst we were sitting there waiting for the show to start I felt as if I wasn't even part of the group. I had a rather strange feeling about tonight. I felt cold and alone. The noise of the crowd was felt like the walls of a prison cell keeping me from moving or speaking. All this excitement, I thought suddenly. It made me think strange things. I tried to forget what I had thought about and concentrated on the upcoming performances. The lights lit up the area where the performances would take place, the crowd was darkened and exciting music started to come out of the speakers in the ceiling. The crowd suddenly hushed. The show was about to begin! Alice gave me a little wink...
