Grey Checking out my hair, Despair! Turning grey, Visible ageing display. To dye? Or to defy? To hide? Lies applied, Professionally, or from a kit, Because you’re worth it? But I’m worth it too! So defy, I choose to do, Ignoring convention, In the face of expectation, And not to dye, I have vowed, Standing proud, Remaining grey, Here to stay! This is who I am, And I don’t give a damn!

Grace I came upon this place by chance By pure coincidental circumstance My plan, to stay upon the popular route, Fell through, despite my mindful resolute And departing dangerously from the norm instead, I stumbled upon this path, previously un-tread. It took a while for me to see, This route so quiet and solitary, Was seldom visited by friend or foe. It took a while, and was quite a blow Yet as realisation hit me in the face, I seemed to find within me, grace. I stopped, Took a long slow breath, and stopped. And slowly, a calm, a peace, upon me came. And my soul, it's tranquil state it did reclaim, And in my heart of hearts, I knew, Despite the obstacles, I had come through.

Plunged Once again, Just as I felt the sun's warmth linger tenderly on my face, I'm faced with the pain, I might lose the race. These heights, I soar when thoughts are strong and spirits are good, Feeling light, In a wonderful mood. Wake up call! The slightest reminder from nowhere that dares to lunge, I trip and fall, And to my depths, plunge. Stuck in the rain, Until I can drag myself back up to the sun Here I'll remain, Despair having won.
