My Heaven I awoke after a restless night. Struggling to fight off the excitement of what was going to be an amazing day. Peeping out the window I found what could only be described as the 'perfect weather'. Without hesitation I gently shook my sleeping beauty to lift her from her peaceful dream (probably about me). Knowing the first lift would start running in 30 minutes, we rushed through the morning chores. shower - done, breakfast - eaten, clothes - on. Being careless and slightly immature, we raced to the equipment cupboard like a couple of 6 year olds jacked up on smarties, where we proceeded to put our boots on. After grabbing our skis and board we set off on our gentle hike to the bottom of the lift. With each step I felt myself getting more and more excited knowing what lied ahead. When we reached the bottom we where greeted with the beautiful sight of a queless lift. A lift that would, in the space of 15 minutes, ascend 400 meters. The views going up were already spectacular. A mixture of freshly bashed pistes and fluffy untouched off pistes. At this point my adrenaline was buzzing. We reached the top and stepped into our bindings. Our current altitude was 2100 meters above sea level. Nothing surrounded me but glistening snow covered mountains, blue skies, the sun, silence and my beautiful fiancée. I couldn't help but think to myself 'This is my heaven'.
