Assyrian Leader.... In 2 Kings 18,19. The Assyrian leader came up with his army to capture Judah the left out Kingdom in the entire Israel nation. kept on shouting disrespectful, filthy words against the God, king and people of the Kingdom of Judah who were under kingship of Hezekiah. Firstly, When king of Judah came to know that Assyrian leader is talking ill against the Judah people and king, he sent his officials to request the Assyrian leader to speak in Syriac language so that the people who where living in the border of the land will not become weary, but we know Syriac language and we can understand your words. But the Assyrian leader lifted up his voice more and more and told, am not speaking only to the officials of this land but to everyone so they will know no God or king can save their people from my hands. But Hezekiah ordered the people not to reply him anything but to stay quiet. The people listened to the King and they obeyed him. When some people speaks against us we tend to react with our mind and strength, which is because of the human nature that is in all it is very common and that action of us expresses that we don't depend on God much, which further leads to trouble of facing more problem and making it complicated, so better is to be quiet. Secondly, the king sent his officials to inform about the problem to Isaiah the prophet, the king did not send to ask for what to do? But just to inform and to ask the prophet to pray. He did not tell his people but only to prophet. We must say our request only to our shepherd not to everyone. Thirdly, the king rushed to temple and poured out his heart to God. He could have been without going to temple but he could have held a meeting with his officials about what to do, but he did not just settle after sending his officials to Isaiah to inform about the situation, he rushed to the temple and cried out to God. There are people in Christian world today who don't feel their responsibility to go to church and cry out to God for their needs, since they have sent their prayer request to certain gospel ministries who give open invitation for Christians and non Christians to send their prayer request. Some say God is everywhere so why is that I should come to church and pray, yes it's true but how much effort you take to get ready and come to church to pray, seeing that dependant on God and the hope that you have on Him, He will answer our prayers. But when we do this, all our problems and enemies will be destroyed in a moment of time as the Angel killed 1,85,000 Assyrian soldiers that night. All these are written for us to learn and not only learn but put it into practice cause we worship a God who is the same forever and ever. When we pray Jesus will do anything for us for His name glory.
