Cheerleading People say cheerleading isn't a sport. I do competitive cheerleading and I think they are all wrong. Cheerleading is a sport. If you would look up sport in the dictionary it would say "an activity involving physical exertion and skill often in which an individual or team competes against another or other for entertainment." It doesn't give a list of all the sports in the world does it? You have to lift a girl (your size) away above your head and you have to keep her stable as she twist her body around. Whenever you get hit, slapped, kicked, or punched you can't stop you have to keep going. I have gotten hit hard in the mouth and my lip started bleeding but I didn't give up. I had to keep going. We don't have people who can replace us. It's only us. It's the number one most dangerous sport. If you think cheerleading isn't a sport I would love for you to come to one of my practices. We train as hard as any other athlete, sometimes more. We have 2 minutes and 30 second to prove we have what it takes, not 1 or 2 hours. Cheerleading is a sport!!!!
