Shadows In The Night In the middle of the night In black and blind sight The man goes passing by With his sack in his hand Strolling on the sand Getting ready for the midnight fight. Oh the shadows creep around And he ne'er makes a sound As he watches with his gleaming eyes Takes a sword, with a swoosh The grass so lush Each word he says is lies. He awaits the day He'll have someone to slay The day of his power and might He waits in the square Wind tangling his hair Waiting for the glorious fight. The fear in the air You shouldn't want to be there You be filled with terror and fright With the dagger in his hand Scraping fresh land Better wait till its light. But at half past two When pansies start to dew He evaporates to thin air As he fades away From the light of day At night you must take care.
