Game this game we play of hide and seek you hide I seek I seek and seek this game we play each time I cough up words to say each time I choke on words to stay for love is much too harsh a word it may just bruise you further still this love I keep on a repeat I swallow down like bitter pill my pride is all I have to eat you hide I seek I seek and seek just not to speak my love to keep

Ink I’ve seen the fragrance of my ink welling in your eyes like rain sliding down my back pooling at my feet I feel it caged in your ribs rising like vapour steaming my eyes like the sweaty can of Diet Coke clutched in your hand as you try to ‘unremember’ the words we tasted together. #poetry
