Are All Humans Selfish? The rebellious teens will say "Of course all humans are selfish!" They must first understand the difference between -selfishness- and -self interest-. Selfishness could be defined as doing something to gain more than you have now, rather it be wealth, power, health, happiness, or mindless objects. Self interest, on the other hand, may be doing things to maintain how you are right now, staying happy, staying healthy, etc. Let's look at eating food as an example. Are you eating the food because it tastes good? Are you eating and not thinking about all of those starving children in the commercials who don't have food? Are you eating for the enjoyment of fine cuisine? Selfish. Or are you eating because you need substance to live? Even though there are starving children, it wouldn't help them any if you ate less. Your interest in your own health may not be selfish, just a needed awareness. Self interest. Then, as always, there are the grey areas, the wishy-washy, in between that most people believe is the best option. All humans are selfish at times and self interested at other moments. But that's no fun.

Long Bios Are Lame I thought I'd take the time to tell you all some things about myself. My name is Erin Fackler, I'm 16 ,and live in America. Some of my favorite things are cats, backpacks, flowers, and old cameras. My idols are Austin Carlile, Mitchell Davis, Pj Liguori, Jeremy McKinnon, and Christian Novelli. My favorite bands are Of Mice & Men, All Time Low, A Day to Remember, The Word Alive, MGMT, backpackparty, Memphis May Fire, Bring Me the Horizon, Breathe Carolina, and Sleeping With Sirens. After high school, I plan on going to college and looking into the law field. As cliché as it sounds, I think coffee shops and thrift stores are the most calming places on earth. I like to sleep way more than the average person. I also love reading cheesy romance novels and watching cartoons. Pokemon and Zelda were the bases of my childhood and I'm still obsessed with them today. And lastly, I daydream way too much.

It Matters To Me Plato did it, so I can as well. Extending thoughts about things unknown, things unheard of before this time. Getting inspiration from those like Socrates and refusing to preach it. I shall ponder for hours, letting words and numbers flood my mind. I'll encode my dreams and decipher them on paper. Then I will burn it and leave it forgotten. My #life will become that of a journal; recording my entirety on its pages, that is, until I get bored. I'll store it on a shelf high above my bed and sleep soundly under its words. Once I wake up, I will go to grab my journal, only to find it missing. Where could the damned thing of gone?
