Prologue To A Nonexistent Story She opened up her mind, but nothing came out; It was empty. All of a sudden her brain went blank. All she could see was a vast rolling path, going no where. She went to school and carried through her days, yet she heard nothing, saw nothing, learned nothing, and thought nothing. Everything in her brain was gone and she was shut off from the world. 'They' took her to the doctor's. He said nothing was wrong, except for a "stupid kid". They took her to hospitals, psychiatrists, anything they could think of; no one found anything wrong with her. Finally, though unsure they took her to the mystics. Of course the mystics realized she was not simply a "stupid kid", she was an intelligent child who had her thoughts drained out.

The Lights The lights were outside her window. They made the world bright again, at least in comparison to their pitch black surroundings. She knew she should be sleeping, it was a few hours passed the time even she promised herself she would sleep by. Despite this, the mysterious lights awoke her and pulled her into consciousness. She was more awake now than ever. 'How funny,' she thought, 'that when you are supposedly the least lucid is when your real self comes through.' This was very accurate and she would know, she could barely thing straight. 'Perhaps I am merely a character in a fantasy book,' she fancied to herself, 'And none of this is real.'

Words Are Flowing Out Like Endless Rain Into A Paper Cup She could hear an odd sound in the distance. She closed her eyes and concentrated -- it was music, she was sure of it. It was not like normal music, it was better. Modern music was filled with stupid ideas and frustrating people but this, this was magical. It was raw and natural, it was lighter yet impacting, it was almost other worldly. She could not help it, she followed the music. She knew the 'others' would disapprove but she no longer cared. It was too magical. By the time she neared the source it was purely vivid colours and staff lines. What would have been the sheet music was drifting in front of her, one note at a time. It was more than beautiful, it was breath-taking. What lay before her were the sounds of the past, the most glorious time of all. 'Inspired by "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.'
