Opus - Organic Growth I haven't been on this website for nearly a year and I have to say that I am disappointed that it has remained such a small community. It is a great product but it has never managed to capture the worlds writing community in any numbers. In my opinion it would be much better for it. No disrespect to the hardened contributors of Opus but in my view it needs to attract more stimulating writing and broaden the content that is required for its organic growth. Maybe if a few celebs or even world leaders could be persuaded to give us a few words of their wisdom. Perhaps a #poem from Kim Jong Il or short story from Donald Trump. My mothers cousins uncles nephews best friend once met Justin Bieber back stage in Seattle. I could try this as a point of contact and see if he will write some of his amazing lyrics for us ! Failing that my Auntie was once an extra in the movie Shaun of the Dead playing an old women zombie for about 3 seconds at the back of the shot during the pub scene. I will ask her if we can't come up with anyone else ? Anyone got any suggestions ?

The Donald If I ruled the world I'd put The Donald in a zoo inside a soundproof glass box People then could come and look at him wearing only his pants and socks His hair would get a little dishevelled but I would supply him with some spray When he's there all the women he's belittled and groped can have their day We won't have to listen anymore to his endless egotistical nonsense Instead he can stare at the queueing throngs while he acts like a ponce It's a cliche I know but The Donald is best to be seen and not heard Everyone knows that it is impossible to polish a turd

Long Forgotten My name has long been lost within ancient mists of time Body now dust and bones white as lime Here I lie forgotten for eternity Gnarled roots now twisted within my mortality Once I proudly roamed the land I am entombed within Standing strong and fearless in clothes of animal skin A hunter and a king of all that I would ever see From forest to ocean it all belonged to me Great animals once walked upon my earth Birds soared high within the skies of my childbirth Enormous human monoliths now tower upon my land Many tribes and races walk upon my soil and sand What has become of my precious and sacred world This place destroyed by my descendants as time slowly unfurled Let me now lie and rest within my peace And be thankful for my destinies early release
