HAPPY PILL Hello you happy little pill A smile, a laugh, a cold dark chill When tragedy struck you were given to me To ease the pain, to enhance the glee Take two a day the bottle says Not any more or any less To change my mood, brighten my day To undo the thoughts of a once dark way I remember when before this drug My pain reliever came in a jug..... The thoughts of darkness came and went My days and nights were drunken spent So for those who wish for a better way And can't seem to face another day Ask for help, you'll feel better still From this happy, helpful little pill.

Make your list of things to do that always seemed not part of you make yourself explore unknowns write down your thoughts dig up those bones Take a step toward things that scare you Show who's boss while mind prepares to overcome what seems unrealistic before you lose it and go ballistic Do something different every day and watch as #life shows new path ways #life's too short to dwell on things that pull and tear on your heart strings.

Settling Down I’ve made a decision, no messing around It’s finally time to settle down No more, messing, no more playing I’ve made this bed, and now I’m staying You’ve taught me how to smile again And that has washed away the pain I’m happy again, back to my old self Left my sorrows on the shelf It’s been so tough, but you’ve been there You’ve shown me how to truly care I’ll push away that glass of curse And my intentions I will nurse I guess its time I settled down Hopefully with you around My younger days have passed me by But I’ll no longer sit and sigh I’m happier with how things are Stay in and play on my guitar Or read my books and write my #poems In the back of my mind knowing That you’ll be coming home to me The person who has set me free

When I heard the news of you, I did the things that most Daddies do. I opened up my heart so wide, For you to have a place inside. I tried to imagine the person you'd be, would you look or act like me? I thought of the things we would do, The times we'd share, just us two. I would hold your hand in mine, be your protector, strong yet kind. I would be your hero and your friend, give advice on which you'd depend. I remember the day you were born, I cradled a miracle, so small and warm. What words I had were scarce and few, A tear was the best that I could do. #life gave me a moment so rare, Bursting with pride, love and care. I promised you then all that I had, For you see my child, I am your Dad.

Moving On I loved her eyes, I loved her hair, I loved her looks, I loved her stare. I loved her attitude so full of delight. I loved her mind so quick and so bright. I loved her look when she got mad, I loved her with all I had. Although I loved her with my all, She did not love me not at all.
