We were out matched, two against four, the odds were against us. But we still held our ground. At this point nothing mattered except getting out of this fight alive. My best friend Rose kept throwing punches but would get two times as many in return. I kept it on the offense but time got the best of me. I let my eyes stray from this group of gang bangers for a second and boom, one punch to the face and I collapsed.
In my haze Rose was still at it. I loved her, she was my everything. My rock, protector, and supporter. She never gave up on anything. I loved and hated that about her. Punch after punch the blows got harder and harder until finally she wouldn't get back up. They laughed and started to defile her in every disgusting way possible. I was furious, scared, and repulsed. What angered me the most was that I couldn't do anything, I was numb and half unconscious. The screams that rose from her lips were like bullets to my heart.
"rose" I tried calling but my lips were swollen shut. Everything happened so fast. One minute I could hear her screaming and the next everything went silent. I couldn't hear them anymore and I couldn't hear Rose and her yelling. Did I die. Slowly but surely I crawl to her side. When I look at her my body goes limp and tears start pouring out of my eyes. Their her body lay as an empty shell without a soul. Strangled by the same people. We call human.
