Lady In The Mirror Stuck behind this mirror looking out at you I see you when you are down and out or feeling O'so blue. But for the moment you do not see me behind this mirror reaching out for you. All you are able to see is yourself when you make those certain moves Feeling like you do not know what else you should do. Not realizing I’m right here with you coaching you through. I see the worst AND I see the best in you. The best thing about me is that I accept you for you. I will never control you, disrespect, or try to conform you into something you are not. I will simply let you know if you are happy or not, the tricky part will be if you listen or not. If you feel that you are incomplete, unwanted, or not loved... You do not know the truth then my love. You search and you search to fill that empty void, you are comforted by the touch of some smooth talking man. But time after time they seem to let you down. Yet, you run away from me knowing I’ll never give up. Knowing I’ll never let you down... you already know what’s up. You see me when you want too but I reflect my image back as you. Afraid to accept what you see you force yourself to look away from the truth. You say...I’m brave, ...I’m strong, ...and you want me to teach you the way. When all you have to do is do it your way! You see I am you and you are me, we are one in the same. We complete one another like some sugar and kool-aide I'll be the Kool aide, meaning I’ll always have your back. And your beauty is like eye candy, meaning you are a treat to ALL eyes. You are sweet, kind, and mouth watering fine. So You have to be the sugar, and not that sweet and low kind! When you step before me with that gorgeous smile you reassure me that it will soon be my time to shine. My reflection is a little dusty at the moment so I know I’m hard to find. But if you keep wiping this mirror off with those tears that you shed, and banging with your heart from the pain that you feel. You will shatter this shell and drop that shield and will realize I’ve ALWAYS been there waiting from within. The truth shall set you free and free spirited you are. You are brave, you are strong, and you are who you are. remember that when you look in this mirror you are me and I am you, And the same will be tomorrow this I know to be true. You are who you chose to be rather it be bitter, kind, or sweet. Sometimes you pretend to be better than you show, And other times you suppress your feelings even though you know. When you look before this mirror be who you are, Because there is no way I will ever believe the lies. Show the world who you are and not what they want you to be Let them see the same reflection that it is you see!
