Thank you, Suzanne Collins
Books are very helpful. They improve your reading skills, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, writing skills, and a lot more. They serve as a pleasure sometimes and a source of knowledge, most of the time. They widen your imagination and give you an inspiration.
I adore my friends, schoolmates, classmates, and all of the people who love to read books. I see them saving their allowance for this trilogy or this book series. I hear them asking books for their birthday or for Christmas. I just don't get it.
Yes, I do know the million advantages of reading books. But I just don't have the passion for books. I am constantly trying to read books in lifting my hopes up that someday I would find a book that would make me read more. So I bought books and I never finished 90% of them. I would stop in Chapter two or three most of the time. The 10% that I finished, I just forced myself.
I never did until I read The Hunger Games. I finished THG in two days (that's good for a starter, right?) and I wanted to read Catching Fire at that very moment. The book was amazing. I can't control myself. I just wanted to read. I lost my focus on other things. That's when I realized what my friends were saying. When you get addicted to a book, you can't stop. I love the story, the characters (especially Peeta. Hee hee), the values, and... everything!! It is a complete package. From love, family, racism, politics, money, and a lot more. You are sure to learn a lot from the book.
I finished the trilogy and I was sad after The Mockingjay since I knew that it was the final book. It was like me, alone in Jupiter.
So I started finding another book to read. I read several books and finished them in a very short span of time (special mention to A walk to remember).
I started loving and reading books since then. And I thank Suzanne Collins for that.
